Suicide Crisis Centre

Suicide Crisis Centre

Our services at the Suicide Crisis Centre are available to individuals living in Gloucestershire who are feeling suicidal.

Our Suicide Crisis Centre in Gloucestershire – based currently in Cheltenham – will be closing its doors for a period of time. We will continue to be available to clients already in our system. They should continue to use the contact numbers they have for us. All future clients will need (for the time being) to please contact their local NHS crisis team: in Gloucestershire call 0800 169 0398 or call the NHS on 111. Our team will be moving site to new premises.

We provide face to face support. Our crisis services offer intensive support if you are at high risk of suicide, and we can continue to support you over the longer term on a less intensive basis.

A small team works with you so that you can build up trust with them, and have continuity of care. We have a very well-trained team, and we have chosen team members who are caring, kind and empathic.

Our daytime phone number operates between 9am and 10pm every day. We can extend the hours beyond these times for you when you are under our care, particularly if you are at high risk of suicide.

There are times when there is a huge demand for our suicide crisis service: at these times we may support some individuals by phone, if we cannot see everyone face-to-face.

If you live outside Gloucestershire, please see sources of help below. We are very sorry that we only have a Suicide Crisis Centre in Gloucestershire at present. We are happy to work with other regions to support the setting up of similar Crisis Centres.

We don’t reveal the location of our Crisis Centre on the website. This helps to ensure that they remain safe, confidential places.

If you live outside Gloucestershire, you can:-

Phone  111 (the new NHS number)  24 hours a day.

If you, or someone you know, is at immediate risk of suicide, you can call 999.
